The 2013 Maryland Homeland Security Educators conference was held October 18, 2013 at the Maryland Emergency Management Agency. The 2013 conference was entitled "New Topics, Techniques, and Technology in Teaching Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness" and featured panel discussions with college and university educators, small group sessions, and a keynote talk from BGE Security Manager Mel Blizzard. The annual Maryland Homeland Security Educators conference brings together high school teachers from around the state to share best practices, make connections with practitioners and other teachers, and gather information to take back to their classrooms.


2012 Homeland Security Conference for Educators

The 2012 Homeland Security Conference for Educators was held on October 19, 2012, at the Maryland Emergency Management Agency in Reisterstown, MD. Current and future teachers of the MSDE high school program of study in Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness listened to speakers from federal, state, and local emergency management and homeland security agencies, and participated in roundtable curriculum discussions.
